VIVAnews - A Renowned Indonesian fashion designer, Adjie Notonegoro, has officially detained by South Jakarta Public Court at Cipinang Prison. Notonegoro was allegedly stealing his friend’s Rp 3.11 billion worth of jewelries.
“He has been arrested since last night,” South Jakarta Public Court Head Yusuf told VIVAnews today.
Notonegoro was seized after being questioned by prosecutor Dedy Sukarno at the court. He is suspected to have violated Article 372 of Criminal Codes.
The famous designer was allegedly given a set of diamond jewelries by Melvin Chandrianto to be sold for Rp 3.11 billion.
Several parts of the jewelries were finally sold for Rp 960 million. Instead of giving the money to Chandrianto, Notonegoro used it for personal gain.
Sukarno said Notonegoro’s case files were complete. The police have also handed in the suspect’s documents and evidence.
