Increase in Deficit, Govt Should Save More

VIVAnews - The State Budget next year is likely to hit deficit by 1.8 percent of the GDP. The Indonesian government will save more to lower further inadequacy.
 
According to Olly Dondokambey from the House of Representatives (DPR), the government will spend less on goods.

"The thrift, for instance, is aimed at official trips abroad," he said.

The deficit consists of State Budget debt of 2011 at Rp 127.04 trillion and non-debt financing at Rp 2.38 trillion.
 
The deficit of Rp 124.65 trillion is due to future state budget allocation at Rp 1,229.56 trillion. Meanwhile, state revenues and grant in the 2001 State Budget are approved at Rp 1,104.9 trillion.
 
"The State Budget records a deficit of 1.8 percent of the GDP," said Olly yesterday.
 
Meanwhile, as regards debt repayment, the government and the House of Representatives (DPR) agreed to pay off debt's interest for the year 2011 at Rp 115.2 trillion.
