"Information from witnesses has helped us capture the suspects," said Director of West Nusa Tenggara Police Department's Crime and Investigation Division Chief Commissioner William Lameng on Tuesday, Jan 6.

The traded people would have been sent to Middle East, Malaysia and Australia. Lameng said that the case was revealed because information on fake documents was disclosed.

Police moved instantly and picked up the perpetrators who circulated fake documents. Lameng also emphasized that human trafficking rate in West Nusa Tenggara is troubling.

The case will lead to other issues like abuse and sexual harassment against Indonesian migrant workers. The victims were commonly under age and had poor educational background.

In fact, they did not have any skills. "They would become a problem for everyone. How would their masters love them if they cannot understand the instructions being given? They are mostly illiterate, and have no work experience," said Lameng.
