Feb 24-25: Dance performance "If..."

The dance repertoire depicts the life of the choreographer during his schizophrenic period. The work illustrates the view that those people with schizophrenia are none of the powerless ones. It also wants to be against the stigma held tight by the society that schizophrenic people are cursed.

Yudistira Syuman, 43, completed his dance school at Ballet Sumber Cipta in 1985. He then continued his study at Folkwang Hochshule in Essen, Germany, in which he learnt classical ballet, modern dance, European folk dances and flamenco. He then joined Folkwang Tanz Studio Company and made solo performances and collaborated with various artists in Europe. He now teaches at Ballet Sumber Cipta and prepares choreographies for Kreativitat Dance Indonesia.
