VIVAnews - The National Team for Accelerating Poverty Reduction (TNP2K) and The Asia Foundation have conducted an evaluation over the provincial financial management. The assessment was aimed at ensuring the provincial budget allocation to prioritize on poverty reduction and education, according to Vice Presidential Spokesperson Yopie Hidayat following the visit of The Asia Foundation President David Arnold at Vice President Boediono's office.
“They are preparing a program to take measure of the provincial budget allocation. It's a kind of survey over the implementation of regional budgets across regencies in Indonesia," said Yopie on Tuesday.
The evaluation has been conducted in almost every regency across Indonesia and is now in progress. “Probably, [the evaluation] will be completed by the end of the year,” said Yopie.
The Vice President, Yopie said, appreciated the effort brought forth by the organization which has been backed up by companies, foundations, and state agencies in the United States, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. “The Vice President is most grateful of the cooperation,” he added.
Furthermore, The Asia Foundation will be teaming up with TNP2K. The research will spur the performance of the Coordinating Team for Reducing Poverty in Provinces (TKPKD). “TKPKD may boost empowerment [of the disavantaged],” he added.
