Indonesia May Boost Male Spas for Tourism

Indonesia is rich with natural resources that are beneficial for the body. So it is likely that a lot of male tourists, local or foreign, enjoy the spa sensation while spending their holiday in Indonesia.

Indonesian Spa Association founder Dr. BRA Mooryati Soedibyo said that spa has been a lucrative business. “Spa business is promising because a lot of tourists look for it,” she said during ‘The Role of Spa in Enhancing Health Quality Holistically’ seminar in Jakarta, June 21, 2011.

According to Mooryati, spa’s growth in Indonesia is related to Indonesia’s natural resources and culture. Indonesia is the second largest herbs producer in the world and one of touristic destinations for relaxing.

Spa treatment which is everywhere in Bali is one of the most favorite body cares for male tourists. Thus, Bali is proclaimed as the best spa destination in the world by German Sense magazine in 2009.

Culture root that is close to nature makes Indonesian spa atmosphere different. “This is unlike that of abroad. Only Indonesia has the spa with an atmosphere of nature,” she said.

Therapeutic  care also affects the treatment. Dr. Lianiwati B., MS, Spok. M. Biomed, an anti-aging consultant, said that therapeutic massage during spa treatment helps reduce stress and relax the body. “Therapeutic touch and massage of those not under stress give customers positive effects.”

Spa, which also means hydrotherapy, originated from ancient Egypt era and developed in line with technology advancement. Not only curing some diseases, having spa regularly can also make people stay young.
