VIVAnews - Dozens of debt collectors from a leasing company attacked the headquarters of Pancasila Youth organization (Pemuda Pancasila) on Jl. Saleh, Cirebon, Friday. Due to this attack, a member of Pemuda Pancasila was seriously injured.
According to information VIVAnews collected, the attack was allegedly the repercussion of the beatings against one debt collector by 15 Pemuda Pancasila members on Thursday afternoon at the organization’s Secretariat. Not accepting this, the debt collectors counterattacked Pemuda Pancasila Secretariat.
Adi Wijaya (35), a member of Pemuda Pancasila, who was at a stall in front of Pemuda Pancasila Secretariat became the target of anger of those debt collectors. He became a victim, beaten by the angry mass.
As a result, Adi’s head was fractured, being hit with stones and bottles. Some of the attackers entered the Secretariat to find other Pemuda Pancasila members. However, because it was quiet, they finally left Adi lying on the ground.
Officers of the Cirebon Police and Indonesian Military (TNI) who received the incident report immediately came to the scene. Adi was then taken to the Cirebon Port Hospital using a pedicab.
"Dozens of people attacked me. I recognize some of them who pulled my bike," Adi told VIVAnews.
Until Friday at 11 a.m. local time the situation was still tense. In order to anticipate another attack by Pemuda Pancasila, hundreds of police officers assisted by the TNI were guarding the leasing company's office and the Pemuda Pancasila Secretariat.
