VIVAnews – Mount Sadahurip or Mount Putri in Garut, West Jawa has become center of attention because of its biggest secret: a pyramid.
The size and age of the pyramid is estimated to exceed the Pyramid in Giza, Egypt. The height is estimated to reach 200 meters. It was figured to have been constructed around 10,000 years ago.
Iwan Sumule, a member of Archaeological Catastrophic Team, said that a number of foreign researchers and institutions have offered their assistance with regard to the excavation. The assistance will be in the form of experts and fund.
“We have been contacted. They will grant funding and research assistance. It has been arranged by an institution in Germany,” Iwan said in a discussion with VIVAnews, Thursday, Dec 29.
The institution is a research institution in Germany, Deutsche Orient-Gesellscaaft (DOG), and its researcher, Prof. Bonatz, is also from Germany.
Another interested researcher was Stephen Oppenheimer, an expert in genetics and human DNA structures from Oxford University, UK. He is the writer of the book "Eden in The East", which reveals that civilization was originated in the East, especially Southeast Asia.
The reason of the interest, Iwan said, was because they have written a book or a study about pyramids. They also wanted to prove the hypotheses about ancient advanced civilization in our nation.
“The location is around Sunda. They have predicted about it in their book. He (Oppenheimer) predicted this before,” he added.
To speed up the excavation, his team will conduct a special meeting with Oppenheimer in February 2012 in Bali with another international cultural event. In this meeting, they will discuss various ways to speed up the excavation. “We will also discuss the technical issues of the excavation and also related facts about the pyramid. He has also researched the pyramids in Middle East,” Iwan continued.
Waiting for Verification
Some people questioned the existence of a pyramid in Indonesia, especially because Indonesia is not known for its pyramids.
In response to the negative comments, Iwan asked them to wait for the results. “We just have to prove this with scientific steps and methods. We are already doing this,” he said.
The interest from foreign researchers, he added, has confirmed the claim. “The foreign researchers must have studied this before. They can’t be this enthusiastic if they don’t believe in this,” he said.
“Foreigners have more trust in this compared to locals.”
He said that people are anxious to know the truth about the civilization hidden behind this pyramid. “The people now revered it. The research can provide answers (to people’s curiosity),” he added.
Iwan expected that if the pyramid is proven real that it will bring positive impact to the surrounding community. “It can be a positive influence for us, socio-culturally and economically.”
