VIVAnews - The national counter-terrorism squad Special Detachment 88 shot to death five alleged terrorists in Bali on Sunday, March 18. The suspected terrorists were killed in two places.
HN, 32, a man from Bandung, West Java, and AG, 30, of Jimbaran, Bali, were executed on Jalan Gunung Sapotan, Denpasar, while three others - UH alias Kapten, DD, and M alias Abu Hanif - were hit on Jalan Danau Sanur, Denpasar. The last two men were said to have come from Bandung and Makassar, South Sulawesi, respectively.
National Police spokesperson, Chief. Comm. Boy Rafli Amar, said the five suspects showed resistance against the police.
"The five men were to commit acts of terrorism and rob a money changer and jewelry store in some places across Bali," Boy told VIVAnews today, March 19.
Police have listed the men in their fugitive lineup for being involved in a robbery of Bank CIMB of Medan, North Sumatra.
"When the men were about to be arrested, they had planned to rob PT Bali Money Changer on Jalan Sriwijaya, Kuta, and a jewelry store on Jalan Uluwatu, Jimbaran," said Boy.
Police seized two FNs, two pistol magazines and 48 bullets of 9mm caliber during the raid.
