VIVAnews – One month after being listed in police fugitive record, Abdillah Naji Kuddah, 49, is arrested by East Java District Attorneys. The suspect of a graft case of the purchase of Citra Logam Mulia (CLM) mall complex in Pamekasan, Madura, was picked up from a vacation home in Serpong, Tangerang, Banten, last night. He was instantly flown to Surabaya at 9.30 PM.
“The arrest was done following the suspect's rejection over the Supreme Court’s order to come for a hearing by reason of illness,” said the attorneys' spokesperson, Mulyono, today.
Mulyono said the reason of illness was frequently used. With all considerations, investigators then decided to arrest the suspect.
The suspect is charged with corruption that he had committed since 2003. At that time, the Pamekasan local administration purchased Abdillah’s mall complex. In the transaction, the suspect practiced fraud by marking up the price.
The auditor's report of the Indonesian State Finance and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) shows that the suspect had inflated the sales value to Rp 7.5 billion from the estimated actual value of Rp 4.8 billion. The state suffers Rp 1.9 billion worth of losses from the case.
In August 2010, the suspect was pronounced not guilty by the Pamekasan District Court. However, the Pamekasan District Attorney filed an appeal to the Supreme Court and was granted.
The suspect was declared guilty. He was sentenced to four years of imprisonment subsidiary of 6 months and a fine of Rp50 million on 22 February 2011.
