VIVAnews - Chief of Democratic Party Central Board, Didi Irawadi Syamsuddin, said coalition of parties should have supported policies issued by the government. Didi cited the Justice and Prosperous Party (PKS), which coalesces with the government and yet has acted as if it was an opposing party.
"Supports toward President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono should be whole," Didi told VIVAnews today. According to him, if PKS violates its commitment as part of the coalition of parties, the party should not no longer be in the alliance.
The lawmaker highlighted issue about PKS's future in the coalition. "It will be upsetting should there be a member of the coalition which challenge the government for the sake of its sole political interest," said Didi.
Didi demanded PKS reconsiders its position as part of the coalition of parties.
"If there is a political party that is not focused on the coalition, it would be of great honor for the party to withdraw from the coalition," he said.
Earlier, PKS denied allegation of a treason on its stance toward the government with regard to the current plan of fuel price rise. "That was not a disloyalty. PKS tries to implement a controlling role over both the coalition and the governance," said PKS spokesperson, Mardanni Ali Sera.
