- Pertamina
VIVAnews - State-run oil and gas PT Pertamina EP has boosted oil production in the Eastern Region of Indonesia (KTI) to 11,690 barrels of oil per day (BOPD).
The production rate was higher than the previous production of 9.539 BOPD. Bunyu Field has provided the largest contribution to the current production.
President Director of Pertamina EP, Syamsu Alam, said that this has been an achievement for the company.
“The Eastern Region of Indonesia has aroused optimism on the oil production amid natural production decline. The current production exceeds our target of 8,008 BOPD or more than 45%,” he said as quoted by VIVAnews from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources's site on Monday.
General Manager of the Eastern Region of Indonesia Division, Satoto Agustono, said the Bunyu Field has contributed 8,460 BOPD; Sangatta, 2,091 BOPD; and Papua, 1,139 BOPD.
“Bunyu has significantly contributed to production given the succeeded drilling in BN-26 Well with the oil production of 2,427 BOPD as well as 0.9 MMSCFD of gas during the production test,” he said.
Changes in method
Production in the Eastern Region of Indonesia is optimized through the implementation of changes over parts of the lifting method from the gas lift system ke ESP (electrical submersible pump), development drilling and exploration activities.
Operations in the Eastern Region of Indonesia are hampered by production decline as well as intense produced water problems.
