VIVAnews - The South East Mahakam block that PT Total E&P operates will start production by the second half of 2012 with 250 million mmscfd of gas and 90 barrels of gas per day.
Head of Total E&P Indonesie Geoscience and Reservoir Department, Nur Syarffudin, said the block consists of three fields. "Each field produces different amount of gas. There is one which produces 100 mmscfd, and another which produces 50 mmscfd," said Syariffudin in Jakarta, May 24.
He said the gas from the block will be channeled to LNG Badak, Bontang, through sea pipelines of 67 kilometers long as well as land pipelines of 150 kilometers long from Senipah Base to Bontang.
Nur said the project has three adjacent rigs of Stupa, West Stupa, and East Mandu. Total Indonesie has invested US$392 million for the block.
PT Total E&P Indonesie now operates 14 oil and gas blocks and coal bed methane.
