VIVAnews – Chairman of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Megawati Soekarnoputri, refused to comment on the speech of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Democratic Party, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, on the issue of his party as the most corrupt. When visiting Bali on Monday, June 18, not a single word escaped from the mouth of President Soekarno’s daughter.

Moreover, Mega did not comment on the survey placing her as the most eligible presidential candidate. The former President of Indonesia kept silence.  She chose to rush into her car when asked by reporters.

Megawati conducted a series of activities in Bali.  Since Monday morning, the wife of the Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), Taufiq Kiemas, officially opened Jalan Ir. Soekarno in Tabanan District. In the evening, Megawati attended the celebration of Bung Karno’s Month at the Kompyang Sujana Sports Stadium. Mega also watched a public stage event held for three days.

Earlier, in a meeting of the Democratic Party’s Founders and Declarators Communication Forum in Jakarta, Yudhoyono said the Democratic Party’s cadres were not the only ones involved in corruption. He revealed some facts, data and numbers obtained from various sources which conclude that other political parties have also been involved in corruption cases, even much worse.

Yudhoyono cited the corruption cases in the ranks of Provincial House of Representatives of the 2004-2012 period in which the Democratic Party was only ranked fifth (3.9 percent). The Indonesian president said four other parties scored higher with the percentage of 34.6 percent, 24.6 percent, 9.2 percent, and 5.2 percent.

President Yudhoyono cited the corruption cases in the ranks of districts/cities of the 2004-2012 period in which the Democratic Party scored 11.5 percent. Yudhoyono said two other political parties got 27 percent and 14.4 percent.
