VIVAnews – A team of geologists is back researching a megalithic site of Mount Padang in Cianjur Regency, West Java, on Thursday by scanning the mount with georadar and geoelectric devices.

The team’s coordinator, Danny Hilman Natawijaya, said the second scanning process is aimed at finding out any anomaly in the form of structured construction made by different civilization.

The first scan was attempted in the eastern side, parallel to the fifth terrace in vertical condition.

“We discovered a structure of space containing a sharp angle in the inside during the first scan,” said Danny.

An angled rock formation was discovered at the depth of eight to 15 meters.

The second scan was carried out on Thursday, June 21. The georadar team under the assistance of 10 local residents both horizontally and vertically scanned the designated rock formation from 3pm to 6pm in the eastern cliff with a height of 10 meters from Mount Padang’s surface.

The scanning point was located 10 meters away from the first scanned spot as the second spot covered a broader area.

“We want to confirm everything. This is part of the confirmation of various developing theories and perceptions, related to the existence of an empty structure inside the existing construction,” he said.

Danny said that during the drilling of the third terrace a few months ago, the team discovered an empty structure of sand in addition to the same type of rock formation.

Currently, Danny added, a study is underway on the type of sand found on the site. According to a temporary speculation, the sand may have been distributed from a river situated around 200 meters from the mount’s current location.
